1. Introduction
TomeBay ("we," "us," or "our") is currently a testing app operated by Aaron Adeoye, the owner and developer. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the TomeBay app at tomebay.com. The website at tomebay.store is an informational landing page. The app is not accepting real payments or creating real purchases during testing.
2. Information We Collect
When you use TomeBay, we collect the following information:
- Account Information: Your name, email address, and profile picture (via Google Sign-In)
- Search History: Searches and related activity within the app
- Address Information: Your address if you provide it for app features or an order
- Test Payment Information: Paystack is configured in test mode. Use only Paystack test details; do not submit real card or bank information. TomeBay does not intentionally store full card or bank credentials.
- Order Information: Items ordered, order status, and delivery details
Google Sign-In manages your Google authentication. TomeBay does not ask you to create a separate TomeBay password. Do not submit government ID numbers or other sensitive information unless the app specifically requests it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to:
- Allow you to sign into the app using Google Sign-In and access additional app features
- Personalize your user experience
- Display your name and profile in your account area
- Store your address if you choose to enter it
- Support simulated payment testing through Paystack test mode
- Improve and optimize our Service
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Storage & Sharing
Firebase stores account data, search history, addresses, test orders, and related test activity for as long as needed for testing, support, security, and service improvement. Test payment activity may also be recorded in app data. We use reasonable security measures, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the app. Depending on the feature being tested, these providers may receive the relevant categories of account, test-order, technical, or test-payment data:
- Google: Authentication and basic profile information for Google Sign-In
- Firebase: Account, search, address, test-order, and related app data storage
- Paystack: Simulated payment activity in Paystack test mode
- Legal or security recipients: Information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the service, or investigate misuse
5. Your Rights
You can delete your account from the profile page in the app, where that feature is available, by selecting the delete option and confirming the action. When an account is deleted, your name, search history, and other non-order account data are deleted where reasonably possible. Test-order records may remain in Firebase for testing, support, security, legal obligations, and recovery from accidental deletion.
